Even as Young & Restless viewers mark a month since Devon Winters last appeared onscreen comes the news that actor Bryton James may, in fact, be dealing with some difficult personal developments offscreen.

Devon’s disappearance comes at an odd time, given that the return of his former brother-in-law, Cane, has turned Genoa City upside down. Cane’s plan to target all of the very big companies headquartered in the very small town has local tycoons trembling in their boots while keeping them firmly on the front burner. Yet Devon,  owner of Winters Inc., has been curiously absent, having not been seen on air since September 15.

This “disappearance” is particularly conspicuous given that the erstwhile Aristotle Dumas is also actively working to reconcile with Devon’s sister Lily. Typically, Devon would have a lot to say on such a matter, as would his onscreen wife, Abby Newman, whose portrayer, Melissa Ordway was bumped from contract to recurring back in November of last year.

Alas, reports suggest that James is dealing with a significant issue in his personal life. According to documents  obtained by TMZ, the Young & Restless star has allegedly filed for divorce from his second wife, Jahaira James.

Citing irreconcilable differences, the filing reportedly claims that the pair separated in June, just a few months after the actor tied the knot with Jahaira Myers in March 2025.

Reportedly, the star has also requested that neither of them be awarded spousal support by the court and that Jahaira change her last name back to Myers. James was married to Ashley Leisinger from 2011 – 2014, and dated live-in-love and co-star Brytni Sarpy (Elena) prior to his relationship with Myers.
