7 Republicans voted to prevent the release

Elon Musk weighed in on the growing outrage over the House Rules Committee’s 7–5 vote to block an amendment that would have forced a full House vote on releasing all Epstein-related files.

The amendment, introduced by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), was rejected along largely partisan lines, with only one Republican—Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina—joining Democrats in support. Chip Roy (R-TX) missed the vote. These seven House Republicans voted to block the release:

Charwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC)
Michelle Fischbach (R-MN)
Erin Houchin (R-IN)
Nick Langworthy (R-NY)
Austin Scott (R-GA)
Morgan Griffith (R-VA)
Brian Jack (R-GA)

The move ignited backlash across social media, with critics accusing lawmakers of protecting Trump and powerful predators. Musk responded directly to a tweet calling the Republican vote, “extremely troubling.”

The remark made to Musk’s 222 million followers is likely to intensify right wing frustrations as suspicions grow around the lack of transparency in the GOP’s handling the Epstein investigation.
