BREAKING: Mike Johnson gives pathetic excuse for refusing to share the Republican healthcare plan after Marjorie Taylor-Greene publicly calls him out!
Speaking with a Fox News host, Johnson was asked about MTG’s recent complaints that the Johnson is refusing to share any details about the Republican plan to deal with the looming healthcare crisis that they themselves are engineering by refusing to extend the Obamacare subsidies at the heart of the government shutdown.
“Where is the Republican plan? She says, Johnson said he’s got ideas and pages of policy ideas and committees of jurisdiction are working on it. But he refused to give one policy proposal to our GOP conference on our own conference call,” asked the Fox host.
Johnson tried to argue that they can’t share the super-secret Republican healthcare plan because…his own members will leak it to the media.
“Yeah, I don’t know what to say about that. I mean, that’s absurd. Obviously, we’re not going to be on a conference call explaining all of our plans and strategies for health care reform because they’re leaked in real time. Literally, when I have a conference call with all my members, it’s tweeted out by journalists. They’re supposed to be private, but they’re not. And so Marjorie knows that,” whined Johnson.
“She knows she can come into my office any day at any hour and I’ll lay out everything for her. The committees of jurisdiction, the people who specialize in all of this, have been working on this around the clock for a long time. In fact, we published 60 or 70 pages of health care reform ideas in 2019 when I was the chair of the Republican Study Committee, the largest caucus in Congress.”
So…no progress made in SIX years, Mike? This is patently absurd. He’s not sharing the plan because he doesn’t have one!
The fact of the matter is that the Republican Party has had over a DECADE to come up with a plan to replace Obamacare and solve the healthcare crisis in America, and they haven’t, because they don’t care!
Instead of offering any real solutions, Mike Johnson and Republicans are going to let millions of Americans go hungry AND suffer thousands of dollars in skyrocketing healthcare premiums because all they care about is maintaining their grip on power and entertaining the petty whims of a would-be tyrant.
