Sunny Hostin Stuns Viewers by Throwing Shade at Alyssa Farah Griffin Once Again on Live TV
Sunny Hostin has taken viewers by surprise after subtly — and repeatedly — throwing shade at guest co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin during The View’s live broadcast this week.
With several regular panelists off — Sara Haines and Joy Behar absent since Monday, and Ana Navarro missing since Wednesday — Alyssa has been filling in as a guest host all week.
Sitting right next to Sunny Hostin, Alyssa’s presence quickly sparked tension between the two, with noticeable jabs starting as early as Monday’s episode.
One viewer took to Twitter saying, “OH SNAP… Sunny really kicking off the week strong with some serious shade aimed at Alyssa.”

The comment was in response to a clip where Sunny sarcastically said, “I’d love to hear Alyssa’s take on this — she probably knows Steve Bannon and all the other wild people she used to work with,” prompting laughter from the audience.
This wasn’t a one-time moment — the snarky remarks and cold exchanges only escalated on Tuesday and especially Wednesday. Fans online began pointing out how relentlessly Sunny seemed to go after Alyssa.
Another tweet read: “Yes, Sunny! Keep Alyssa Farah Griffin accountable. She worked under Trump for way too long. I don’t feel bad for her at all.”
A third person chimed in: “Sunny Hostin never lets anyone forget that Alyssa worked for ‘the twice-impeached, disgraced ex-president.’ And I live for it.”
Someone else added, “Sunny is always quick with the shade, but she really seems to go extra hard on the conservative co-hosts.”
Some fans now believe the on-air tension might not be going away anytime soon — because Alyssa could be sticking around permanently.
Her ongoing appearance this week sparked speculation that The View may be grooming her for a full-time role.

One moment in particular raised eyebrows: during a “Hot Topics” segment, the hosts were discussing how women who worked with the former president often feel vulnerable in public. Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, looked at Alyssa and said, “We’ve got your back,” before giving a knowing smile and tossing to commercial — a gesture many saw as a possible sign of things to come.
Reddit users also noted Alyssa’s composure during intense discussions and praised her for being honest and balanced.
“Alyssa earned her spot today,” one person wrote. “She was thoughtful, open, and brought a necessary conservative voice — unlike Meghan McCain, she knows how to make her point without being combative.”
With the continued absence of Joy and Sara, and the growing support for Alyssa, many believe it’s just a matter of time before she’s officially named as one of The View’s permanent co-hosts.

The mountain path above Aspen was narrow, a ribbon of pale stone stitched into the side of the world. On one side, a wall of granite rose like a shut door.
